One of Enfield's largest employers is set to move into a new building in the town centre, as part of plans to expand its business in the borough.

US-based communication software firm Metaswitch, which has been in Enfield since 1981, will consolidate its 348 staff from across three sites near Enfield Chase train station into one building at Genotin Road car park, subject to planning approval.

As part of the office development, Metaswitch has offered the proposed adjoining car park for public use at weekends throughout the year.

Enfield Council's cabinet member for economic regeneration and business, Alan Sitkin supported the plan: "This really is fantastic news for the borough's growth and sustainability, particularly as we have a proud history of supporting innovators and pioneers of new technology.

"We see Metaswitch’s new location as a catalyst for further economic development in the heart of the town centre."
