A development featuring 81 homes has opened in Edmonton.

Hammond Court, by Newlon Housing Trust, has been built on the site of North Middlesex Hospital’s former boiler house.

All homes were allocated as affordable, in a mix of affordable rented and shared ownership properties. The scheme includes flats, houses and maisonettes.

The development also features green communal courtyard spaces and landscaped areas.

The scheme was officially opened on 7 July at a ceremony attended by residents and delegates of Enfield Council, including Councillor Ahmet Oykener, cabinet member for housing and housing regeneration.

Sarah Ebanja, chair of Newlon, said that all affordable rented homes and the vast majority of shared ownership properties went to Enfield residents, including some staff working at the North Middlesex Hospital.
