The Greater London Authority has given 1.1 million to Enfield to improve its town centres.

Enfield Town and Ponders End high street are set to benefit from the money, with an extra £80,000 also provided from the council’s Homes Bonus. This will also be used to create jobs in industry sectors such as transport, food, logistics and construction.

The council will also encourage apprenticeship opportunities, helping businesses to match students with construction jobs.
