The College of Haringey, Enfield and North East London (CONEL) celebrated the success of its apprentices recently at an Enfield Council-run event.
The “Celebration of Apprenticeship Success” event on Monday 14 March 2016 took place during National Apprenticeships Week (14-18 March). Awards were given in a range of categories.
CONEL students Adam Navsa and Armanie Smith both triumphed. Navsa triumphed in the college's business administration category. The top award of the night, the Apprentice of the Year award, went to Smith, who started her Business Administration Level 2 Apprenticeship at Enfield Council in November 2012.
After taking a career break to start a family, Smith returned to Enfield Council in March 2015, progressing onto the Business Adminstration Apprenticeship Level 3, which she completed in March 2016.
CONEL's Enfield Centre has been working with Enfield Council to provide Business Administration apprentices since 2011. More than 35 apprentices have successfully completed their apprenticeships in this time.
Joyceline Hogan who is responsible for Enfield Council's Apprenticeship Programme was presented with a special recognition award.
In other news, hairdressing Level 2 student, Dailiena Martinez Moreno, won the Chris and Sons annual hair styling competition on 27 April. She held off 20 student hair stylists from local colleges and industry academies, such as Toni and Guy, to scoop the prize.
