Council seeks Meridian Water architect
Mon 2 March 2015, 11:20 am
Enfield Council is seeking an architect to design the £1.5 billion Meridian Water project.
Proposals for the 85-ha scheme include up to 8,500 homes, 3,000 jobs and community facilities, including shops and schools.
Meridian Water is being considered as a housing zone – an initiative launched by the mayor to accelerate the number of houses being built in London, by lifting planning restrictions and providing additional funding. So far, nine zones have been confirmed, with Meridian Water in the pipeline for the next set of announcements.
The council has appointed Atkins to design an integrated rail and bus transport terminal for Angel Road Rail Station, to provide better access to Meridian Water for future residents and businesses.
