Enfield Council is urging residents to voice support for extending Crossrail 2 to New Southgate.
Transport for London is seeking views on the proposed extension, which would reduce the journey time between New Southgate and Victoria station in central London to 21 minutes.
The council said it supports the plan as it believes “it would attract investment, business and visitors to the area”.
Cabinet member for environment, Councillor Chris Bond, said: “Crossrail 2 coming to New Southgate would be a massive deal for this borough. It would significantly improve transport links to Enfield and give residents greater mobility and personal freedom to access jobs opportunities and services.
“It would reduce congestion, drive economic growth and revitalise the borough’s economy.”
