Affordable homes provider Origin Housing Group has applied for planning permission to redevelop a used-car dealership in New Southgate with a block of 44 apartments.
Under the proposals, 14 one-bedroom apartments, 25 two-bedroom apartments, and five three-bedroom apartments would be constructed in a building of up to six storeys at the site of New Southgate Motor Company, in Station Road.
A planning statement submitted along with the application by agents Jones Lang LaSalle said the 0.15 hectare plot was designated as a regeneration site in the North Circular Area Action Plan, and other planning documents.
“The development will help invigorate and revitalise this part of New Southgate, creating synergies with the extensive regeneration efforts currently taking place,” it said.
It added that Origin currently owned and managed 5,500 homes in London and Hertfordsihre, and had developed award-winning schemes in Enfield at Watermill Lane and Dairy Close.
