A hub that provides crucial advice and support to new and existing businesses is set to get a fresh lease of life with a £325,000 package of improvement work.
Enfield Business Centre, in Hertford Road, will be extended and refurbished with the cash boost, which has come from round two of London Mayor Boris Johnson’s Outer London Fund.
The building, which is run and managed by Enfield Council, houses a range of organisations including Enterprise Enfield.
Councillor Del Goddard, Enfield’s cabinet member for business and regeneration, said a temporary reception area was being installed at the back of the centre, allowing it to remain open until the upgrade project’s scheduled completion in April.
“Enfield Business Centre plays a vital role in supporting businesses in Enfield by giving them the information, advice and practical support they need to thrive in today’s incredibly competitive market place,” he said.
“This refurbishment will make the centre better able to meet their needs, encourage more people to use it and continue to enable us to make Enfield’s business community amongst the most competitive and profitable in London.
“We continue to support small and medium businesses as shown by the efforts we made to encourage people to shop locally during Small Business Saturday.”
