Office-to-resi plans for Southgate block

Proposals to convert a six-storey office building in the centre of Southgate into 37 flats have been submitted to Enfield Council.

The request for South Point House, in Chase Road, has been made under the coalition government’s recent changes to permitted development rights, which only require prior-approval for such schemes.

Under the notification, lodged by agents Metropolis Planning & Design, the conversion would involve the upper five floors of the block, which is just metres away from London Underground’s Southgate Station.

The building has a range of retail units at its ground floor level.
