Work has begun on developer Segro's 128,250sq ft Advent Way development in Enfield, marked by a groundbreaking ceremony at the site.
The event took place yesterday (7 November) and was attended by the mayor of Enfield, Councillor Kate Anoule, as well as local stakeholders and senior representatives from Segro and Whitbread.
Due for completion in August 2014, the development will feature a 96-bedroom, 44,100sq ft Premier Inn hotel and 84,150sq ft of industrial space developed on a speculative basis.
Alan Holland, Segro’s business unit director for Greater London, said: “Advent Way is Segro’s first development in north London and we’re very pleased to be building a new hotel for Premier Inn which, when it is completed, will offer employment opportunities for the local community.
“Advent Way is situated in an excellent location and our speculative scheme will offer high-quality industrial space to serve businesses in the immediate area, as well as those that require easy and direct access to central London.”
