Affordable homes provider Notting Hill Housing Group has won planning permission for two schemes that will provide more than 120 homes near the North Circular Road in south-west Enfield.
The council’s planning committee this week gave its backing for the construction of 88 homes in three separate blocks on the former site of Lynton Court, in Bowes Road.
The tallest block would be up to five storeys, but the schemes will also include family houses.
Separately, Notting Hill was granted permission for a 35-home development of up to five storeys on a cleared site nearby at 102-118 Bowes Road.
Recommending both schemes for approval, Enfield Council officers said the proposals would “significantly contribute” towards the borough’s housing stock and were considered to have an acceptable level of density by London Plan standards.
The approvals are subject to a range of conditions, including agreement over Section 106 planning gain contributions.
Reports on both schemes said Notting Hill planned to comply with the council’s target of 40 per cent affordable housing for new developments, “subject to practical completion and securement of grant funding by March 2015”.
