The first phase of the redevelopment of New Southgate's Ladderswood estate will start on site in the next few weeks, according to Enfield Council.
The scheme will ultimately provide 517 new homes, an 80-bedroom hotel, a new community centre, and six commercial units, after the current 1960s flats have been cleared.
Senior project manager for estate renewal at Enfield Council Peter George said work on an already cleared site that is part of the project would begin “within the next month or so”.
The £100 million scheme, which will be built by Mullaley & Co, was granted planning permission in February this year and will comprise 436 flats and 81 houses.
The affordable housing element will be managed by social landlord One Housing Group.
