Notting Hill Housing has won approval for an affordable homes scheme that will redevelop the existing Enfield Council waste depot off Carterhatch Lane.
The scheme, designed by HTA Architects, provides 63 affordable rented homes and 87 shared ownership properties, with a combined floorspace of around 14,500sq m.
Adam Donovan, assistant director of planning at consultant Deloitte which advised Notting Hill on the scheme, said the development would also include a new public open space and children’s play area.
“This innovative design will provide new, much needed, housing in Enfield,” he said. “It is always a challenge to provide good quality affordable housing that delivers a mix of units and exemplary design, and I am delighted that we have been able to do just that here.”
He said Notting Hill intended to start construction work later this year.
