Industrial property developer Segro has pre-let the 96-bedroom hotel planned for its Advent Way, Edmonton, scheme to Premier Inn.
The firm said Premier owner Whitbread Hotels and Restaurants had agreed to take on the five-storey, 3,970sq m hotel element of the development, which is next to the North Circular Road.
Segro said it would also develop 15 high-quality business units at the 5.2 acre site on a speculative basis.
In January, Opportunity Enfield reported that the firm had applied for planning permission to redevelop the former factory site. Segro now expects to start construction in July, with the units targeted for completion in March 2014 and the hotel earmarked to open two months later.
Alan Holland, Segro business unit director for greater London, said the site had much to offer.
“Advent Way is an excellent location, situated adjacent to the North Circular Road, and it will appeal to businesses that serve this immediate area as well as those that require easy and direct access into central London,” he said.
Whitbread acquisition manager Owen Ellender said the Advent Way deal would support the revitalisation of an important North London trading estate and create around 32 jobs.
Segro added that its speculative industrial units would range from 207sq m to 1,170sq m and are specifically targeted at businesses undertaking “last mile” urban distribution activities.
