Broomfield House restoration team pledges to fight on

Thu 7 February 2013, 1:38 pm

The team behind a £4.175 million bid to restore a 16th-century manor house in Enfield have pledged to fight on, despite being turned down for Heritage Lottery Funding.

Broomfield House Working Group learned last week that they would not receive cash from the body to turn the fire-damaged building in Palmers Green into a heritage and community centre, the Enfield Gazette reported.

Working group member Colin Younger said  he did not believe the decision represented a “closed door” on the scheme.
