BAM Construction is set to start work on the £4.6 million Kingfisher Hall free school in Enfield Highway.
The firm said it was planning to adopt a “hyper-local” template for the 420-pupil primary school and 30-place nursery, due for completion next summer.
Construction director Mike Donegan said construction of the school would create jobs and benefit the local economy. “BAM is delighted to bring its extensive skills to this important project to create a new building for primary school pupils in Enfield Highway,” he said.
As one of education secretary Michael Gove’s new free schools, Kingfisher Hall will operate outside of local authority control.
Project architect for the school is Enfield-based ACP.
